CLOCK AND MAINSPRINGS:
BENDING, TIGHT AND LONG-LASTING

Watch springs and mainspring are subject to very high tension. And they need to consistently produce energy over the years each time they are wound up. Based on its extensive know-how, Schwab-Feller AG ensures during design and production that the springs will do exactly this job. Equally important is the choice of material.
Two very high quality types of steel are used in Schwab-Feller’s current manufacturing process:
  • Stainless steel flat strip (1.4310, 1.4404 and 1.4435)
  • Nivaflex 45/5 and Nivaflex+
These materials are characterised by a high degree of durability. They are extremely resistant to wear and do not rust. Furthermore, Nivaflex is suitable in all production environments where anti-magnetic materials are used.

Depending on the final product, the material ranges from 0.4 to 100 mm wide and 0.05 to 0.55 mm thick.

Useful to know: Even if stainless steel and Nivaflex have already proven themselves with Schwab-Feller’s customers for many years now, the technicians remain on the ball and do all they can to ensure that the material used optimally meets the needs of the customers.

“We are on the spot when our customers need us. We sit down with them and find the best solution together”, says CEO Andreas Fischer. The emphasis is on “together”. The success of Schwab-Feller AG always implies the success of the whole team – each solution is a customised offer.
